Ferals
Apple trees were brought to Ontario by 19th century colonists. Many trees escaped cultivation. Their feral descendants now grow entangled with the local ecosystem. Today, the arrival of more new species continues to transform the forest. The paintings are fractured, chaotic and dense, revelling in the vitality of their subjects.
